[10] In 1621 the city was besieged through the Bavarians led by Tilly and after big bombardment the city was forced to surrender as well as Saxons had to go away. The city was then punished for disobedience by intensive repressive measures. This example recurred yet again in 1631 once the burghers allowed the Saxons to enter and conquered the city.
